In the upper gray bar, click on the INVENTORY module, then select the Settings category and the Basic settings view page. Two ways of valuing items can be set for the inventory:
- Average cost – for all inventory items, the weighted average of the purchase prices listed in goods received notes will be calculated, and the average purchase price will be calculated from them.
- FIFO – for all inventory items, the purchase prices listed in the goods received notes will be added up.
2. Create warehouse
To create a new warehouse, click on Warehouses in the left navigation bar, and then press the button New warehouse on the page. Fill in the name of the warehouse and save the record. We can now see the warehouse we created on the Warehouses page.
3. Create category
To create a new category of inventory items, click on Categories, and then click on the New category button on the page. We fill in the name in the form and click on the Save button.
4. Creation of inventory item and stock card
If we want to create a new inventory item, we go to the Inventory items page, and then press the New inventory item button on the page. In the inventory item form, fill in its name, check the unit of measure, and select the category. If we are done, we can create a stock card. In the still open form, click on the Stock cards, assembly components and accessories tab. On the page, we select the Warehouse for which we want to create a stock card and press the button Create stock cards. In the table Stock cards we can now see the stock card we created. Now we will open the record of the stock card we created, and add the unit sales price. When we are done, we will save the inventory item form. On the page Stocks we see the stock cards of the items in the warehouses.
