Introduction to working with NET Genium ERP – Business Management

The following steps will guide you through the beginnings of using the NET Genium ERP information system – Business Management.

First steps

1. Browser settings

Enter the address of the information system into a web browser (or click on the link https://www.netgenium.com). We recommend that you always enter the address with the prefix “https” – a domain with this prefix is secured with SSL encryption. By using insecure standard access via “http”, you run the risk of misusing your login details, which in this case are sent to the server unencrypted.

Before starting work with the NET Genium portal, it is first necessary to set up our internet browser appropriately. We will achieve this thanks to the instructions written in the manual for the correct setting of the Internet browser.

2. Login to the portal and change the default password

After the browser is set up correctly, we enter our login name and password “{1}” in the upper right corner of the login form (the password is the same as the login name). After a successful login, we recommend changing the default login password immediately. So we click on “Logout” in the upper right corner, go to the “Change password” tab, fill in your existing password and double the new password. Finally, we confirm the password change by clicking on the “Save” button. Congratulations, you are now ready to get started with NET Genium ERP – Business Management.

Example of practical use – Creating a new business account

By business account we mean any legal or natural person who is in some way related to our business activities. These are therefore customers, suppliers, dealers, investors and other partners. Business account records form the core of our communication with customers and also serve in many of the company's business, organisational or financial processes.

1. step – create a new business account record

In the upper gray bar, which contains a list of application groups, click on the “CRM” link. The first application in this application group will automatically open in the left navigation bar, ie. “Address book” and “Business accounts” view page. In the main window of the view page, click on the “New business account” button.

2. step – business account editing

As you can see, a new business account record edit form has opened. In the introductory tab “General” we enter the main data about the customer. Fields marked with an asterisk are required to save the record. When entering the customer's ID, you can click on the question mark icon to go to his other data in the ARES database. When clicking on the button “= CZ + IČ”, the customer's VAT number will be automatically filled in as a compound text string of the prefix “CZ” and the customer's IČ.

We can now assign contacts to the business account. One business account can have multiple contacts (company spokesperson, owner, etc.). By clicking on the “New contact” button, we will go to the Contact form (by pressing the button, the business account form will be saved automatically, so you must first really fill in all required fields).

3. step – creating/assigning contacts

In the Contact form, we will fill in at least the surname of the contact. Contact titles can be selected using the drop-down list or Picker (more about using Picker in the general help Edit forms). We save the contact by clicking on the “Save” button.

4. step – creating/assigning addresses

After successfully creating a contact, we will move on to creating a business account address. Clicking on the “New address” button in the business account form will take you to the Addresses form. Subsequently, we enter the required values, ie. street and city. To view the address location on the map, you can click on the locator icon "Find on map" and choose the server to display the address in the new window. We can enter additional optional data and save the address record by clicking on the “Save” button. We are redirected back to the Business Relationship form.

5. step – completion of business account creation

The business account form contains a number of other tabs that display reports from other agendas of the information system and are somehow related to our business account. At the moment, however, we are satisfied with the result and we will save the record of the business account.
